"Rivals - Sitting Bull & Custer"

A unique piece, especialy for western memorabilia collectors!

Matching scrimshaw portaits of Chief Sitting Bull and General George Armstrong Custer, leaders at the "Battle of Little Bighorn," or, as it is known to Native Americans, the "Battle of Greasy Grass."

The portraits are on mammoth ivory, inlaid in African ironwood, then inlaid again into the hand crafted base of cocobolo wood. Each portrait is also surrounded by a rim of inlaid black ebony.

Attached to the lower section of the base is the title "Rivals," scrimshawed on mammoth ivory. Below on a 45 degree angle, are the names of the rivals, also hand scrimshawed on mammoth ivory.

The base is uniquely carved to display these two memorable rivals.

Measures Approximately:
5 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 3 1/2"h

Price: $650.00 (US) SOLD
