![]() "Captain Charlie Barr" This beautiful work of scrimshaw was hand crafted on the bold tip of an antique, pre-ban, African ivory tusk. The ivory art is mounted on a hand carved stand of West African, Gabon black ebony, highlighted with inlaid portal accents of antique ivory. The scrimshaw image is of the Schooner Atlantic and Captain Charlie Barr. Captain Barr held the transatlantic sailing record longer than any other man in history and he made the historically significant crossing at the helm of the Schooner Atlantic. "This is amazing! Stunning! And absolutely beautiful." L. James Measures Approximately: 3 1/4" x 2" x 5"h |
