This work displays scrimshaw ivory inlays on a Finnish-made Sako rifle.
The handcrafted inlays of two elk portraits are inlaid in sizes and locations requested by the owner.
The inlays exactly match the rifle stock’s existing contours and are glass-backed by hand to prevent any future cracking of the ivory from the shock of repeated firing.
“Thank you! I now have a beautiful Sako!” – K. Herfurt
